Kostov Reprimands Interior Ministry Bosses

Bulgaria has not managed to curb the crime, the head of state declared

The Premier summoned the Interior Minister Emmanuil Jordanov and the chiefs of the National Interior Services. Kostov has questioned the generals in connection with the recent incidents in Bulgaria. The Premier insisted to know what the following steps in the struggle against crime will be, laconically said one of the meeting's participators. At the Premier's office the directors of the National Police - Gen. Vassil Vassilev, of the National Directorate for Organized Crime Combat - Roumen Milanov, of the counter-intelligence - Gen. Atanas Atanassov and the chief secretary of the Interior Ministry Gen. Slavcho Bossilkov gathered together. We have discussed the sensational crimes of the recent time and the investigations on them, minister Jordanov told the news after the meeting. There will be taken measures against the crime but don' expect that we reveal any particularities, the Interior Minister added. I've heard of the assault against Assen Agov and I was stunned, President Peter Stoyanov said on his return from Davos. This should be another clear message to the bodies of the order and to the society in general, Stoyanov said. The order bodies should react when in such a manner any Bulgarian citizen is assaulted, and this is my great concern, the President said. Stoyanov added, that though it was not appropriate to say such things before the elections, but, anyway, Bulgaria has not managed to curb the crime in the recent years.
