In Europe They Still Take Bulgaria for Caucasian Republic

I will bring in $500 million in investments, Pavel Ezekiev maintains

Picture - Mr Ezekiev, what did Vice-Premier Nikolay Vassilev said when he offered you the director's office in the Foreign Investments Agency?
- The PM and Vice Premier want $0.5 billion fresh foreign investments from me in 2003. There's a threshold of $500 million which we can't yet overpass for some reason. My task is to leap over the barrier.
- Where they don't yet know Bulgaria?
- To our surprise, may be that's Western Europe. Certain companies there take us for a Caucasian republic. It's difficult to explain it seriously, but that's the fact.
- Why have we turned our back on the Russian investors in the previous years?
- I can't give a clear answer to this question. But I'm sure, the situation soon will improve. To me the entire potential will be put to use in 5 years. And Russia has the potential to be the biggest business and trade partner to Bulgaria.
