Chairwoman of the Central Electoral Commission Fluent in 5 Languages

Professor in Civil Law at the Sofia University Maria Pavlova (65) was elected for a second successive time the chairwoman of the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) from the NMS quota. She has published a two-volume work on civil law and many textbooks and studies. She is specialized in Copyright and Patent Law. Thanks to her efforts Patent Law has been taught at the Sofia University for two years now. At school she was very good in maths but her parents decided she was to study Law, so she graduated in Law from the Sofia University St Clement of Ohrid. She has been teaching there for 35 years now. She is fond of climbing mountains in her leisure time. Her hobby is reading fiction in foreign languages as she is fluent in English, German, French and Russian. She also adors church music.
