Bloodfight over New Cabinet
A NMS supporter broke the head and leg of an 81-year-old Socialist's supporter
The quarrels in Plenary Hall on the formation of a Cabinet spilled out to the streets. Pernik, a town near Sofia, was shocked by a bloodfight with canes between two 81-year-old friends, who beat each other to blood, in a quarrel over the new ministers.
"Don't you dare insulting my party!" shouted Timcho Ivanov, supporter of the National Movement Simeon II (NMS), and hit his coeval Ivan Panikov on the head with his cane. Ivan, who is twice smaller than Timcho, collapsed on the ground and broke his leg. However, Timcho went on beating him. The scene was eye-witnessed by dozens of Pernik citizens. The two old men were sitting on a bench in front of their favorite cafe, as they do every day. The two have been friends for long years. They were talking politics and suddenly started quarreling over the unsuccessful attempts at forming a new government.
