Nine Percent of Bulgarian Students Study Abroad

Nine percent of the Bulgarian students have graduated from universities abroad, sources from the National Research Institute (NRI) informed. Most of the university students start their education in Bulgarian universities but they are transferred to foreign universities on different agreements after their 2nd or 3rd year.
The Bulgarians have to do away with the myth that only the wealthy send their children to study abroad. 72% of the young Bulgarians, who study abroad, are on scholarships but not on their own expenses.
The young Bulgarians mostly go to study in Germany and Italy, while England comes third. Hardly 53% of the young Bulgarians who graduate abroad return to Bulgaria.
