Michael Chernoy Sues Deripaska in Israel

Businessman Michael Chernoy has launched a lawsuit against billionaire Oleg Deripaska and eight other Russian citizens in Tel Aviv's District Court, The Globes wrote.
Mr. Chernoy claims US $2,781,000 from them for libel. He says that Oleg Deripaska has launched a powerful and global slanderous campaign against him. To his words, Deripaska's aim is to discredit him and make the Israeli authorities to deprive him of his Israeli citizenship and expel him from the country.
In his plea, Chernoy states that the blackening campaign includes libelous publications in electronic and printed media, graffiti in the streets and various attempts on the part of the plotters to exercise influence on the state authorities by illegal means.
Chernoy's lawyer Yaakov Weinroth says his client has filed a claim against three Russian citizens - Oleg Deripaska, CEO of the Bazovy Element Company, Alexey Drobashenko, Director of the Eurasian Group Company and journalist Andrey Kalitin. Among the other defendants are Israeli citizens Avigdor Eskin, Rafi Pridan and Aviv Mor - private detectives, and Ilya Rosenfeld, David Edelman and Mark Bibichkov.
The plea reads that Oleg Deripaska, through his tool - Drobashenko, has hired Avigdor Eskin and the two private detectives, Pridan and Mor, arrested in 2007 on suspicion of having wiretapped Chernoy's phone conversations with Avigdor Lieberman, Chairman of the Our Home Israel Party.
The Israeli edition of NewsRu writes that a British court presently hears another legal case Chernoy Vs Deripaska.
