Today, after 9 years spent in the hell of a Libyan prison Snejana, Valya, Valentina, Nasya, Kristiyana, Zdravko and Ashraf are at home. Each of them in his own way is trying to start a new life and leave behind the nightmares. Now it doesn't matter how exactly the campaign "You are not alone" ran. It is important to remember why it was significant to do it. And to swear that as a nation we will never let a similar case happen again as the one of the nurses imposing the need of missions like "You are not alone". All journalists present at the National Theatre on Tuesday night were aware of the conclusions from the campaign. The audience kept quiet when Bulgaria's Prime Minister Stanishev announced that the award for campaign is associated with the event that deeply moved every Bulgarian last year.
"You are not alone" made us feel sympathy and showed out that Bulgarians can be compassionate and united and to make Bulgaria's friends from the European Union take action," said PM Stanishev before handing the statuette to Mrs. Slavka Bozukova - Editor-in-Chief of "The Standart", to the owner of "Darik" radio Radosvet Radev and to the head of bTV's news department Lyuba Rizova.
"You are not alone" campaign proved the power of journalism united in a truly national, patriotic cause", said the Editor-in-Chief of "The Standart" Mrs. Slavka Bozukova.
She thanked PM Stanishev for his cordial words and President Georgi Parvanov for the expressed high opinion of the mission during the meeting of Bulgarian media in Madrid. On behalf of "The Standart" Mrs. Bozukova expressed gratitude to all the partners in the campaign - "Darik" radio, bTV, the Chairman of Together against Death Penalty Organization Michel Taube and to Mr. Todor Batkov who financed the campaign.
