For the last 10 years Bulgaria has the lowest population growth of all EU member states, shows the data quoted by the Eurostat yearbook 2008. Bulgaria's population decreased by 7,9%, followed by Latvia (-6,7%) and Lithuania (-5,7%). Ireland leads with the biggest growth (+18%), followed by Cyprus (+16,9%), Luxemburg (+14,2%) and Spain (+12,5%), statistics shows.
