text sizeEurope Launches Alcohol Anti-Advertising Campaign
Alcohol consumption can damage your health and shorten your life,? such safety signs will be mandatory on the labels on bottles of rakia, whiskey and vodka. The new requirement will come into force after 2011, decided the General Assembly of the European Confederation of the Spirits Producers. ?The warning signs will be similar to those that are currently put on cigarette packs,? explained Branimir Botev, chair of the Bulgarian Association of Spirits Producers. According to the new rules, eroticism is banned from liquor ads. Any hints at sexual supremacy, or that alcohol leads to better social realization will be also inadmissible. Producers will have to stop advertising their products in front of children, pregnant women and drivers.
