Alcoholic drinks and cigarettes will cost 50 cents more as of 2010. The excise duty to be raised by 15%, finance minister Simeon Djankov proposed. The change would affect home made rakiya (typical Bulgarian drink) as well. The higher tax would lower the budget revenues and the people will get sick drinking self made alcohol, manufacturers opposed.
