The A(H1N1) flu has badly affected Bulgaria. Over 210 people per 10,000 suffer from its symptoms - 40C temperature, severe pains in the bones and muscles, coughing, which quite easily develop into pneumonia. Bulgaria is under quarantine. For the first time a national flu epidemic has been declared in Bulgaria. The number of patients grows like an avalanche, No.1 epidemiologist Angel Kunchev informed. The prognoses of the WHO show that the swine flu will hit every third European.
From Monday on, schools in Bulgaria will close doors. Creches and kindergartens will be closed if 30% of the kids are absent. Hospitals suspend scheduled operations and ban visits to patients. Mayors of many towns in Bulgaria intend to introduce mandatory protective medical masks in the streets.
