US companies are interested in technology and communication projects in Bulgaria, as well as in renewable energy projects, Frank Jackson, mayor of Cleveland, said. Frank Jackson and his team were on a visit to Sofia to explore the possibilities for making business in Bulgaria. The US delegation and the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry signed a memorandum aimed at strengthening the economic cooperation between Bulgaria and the USA.
The US delegation had a meeting with Bulgaria's Health Minister Bozhidar Nanov. They discussed the possibilities for cooperation between Bulgarian hospitals and the Cleveland clinic regarding supply of equipment and software and training of Bulgarian doctors by US specialists.
The flat tax and the favourable geographic position make Bulgaria an attractive business destination for the US investors, mayor Jackson commented.
