"Bulgaria's priority is to become EU leader in drawing in foreign investments," deputy-minister of Economy, Energy and Tourism Evgeni Angelov declared at the Economic Forum.
The authorities and functions of the Investments Agency, as well as the municipalities' legal powers to attract investments will be broadened in pursuit of this goal.
"We need to adopt a more aggressive approach in search of investors instead of waiting for them to come by themselves," Angelov explained.
"It is expected that in 2010 the direct foreign investments will stand at 6.5% of the country's GDP. We will rely on sector-oriented policies in order to overcome the crisis," Angelov added.
