- Before answering your questions I would like to thank the popular The Standart Daily for the opportunity you give me to share my views. According to a number of theories of the Bulgarian historians once the Iranian and the Bulgarian people had common origin and lived together in one region. For this reason I see myself as a diplomat who was lucky to be sent on a mission among loved relatives.
- Are there perspectives for cooperation in the sphere of energy production? What is Iran's attitude towards Nabucco project which is supported by Bulgaria and the EU?
- Bulgaria can rely on Iran for maintaining its energy security. Bulgaria could play a key role as a suitable transit route for export of gas from Iran to Europe. Nabucco is an important energy project. Iran could play a positive role for its development. The implementation of the project will strengthen the world peace and security. Iran is ready to employ its potential for implementing of the project.
- How do you see the development of the bilateral relations in 2010?
- I hope the best news will be for the development of the relations and for the expansion of the economic ties between the two countries. In 2010 we will celebrate 113 years since the first official relations between the two countries were established. We have discussed that weeks of culture will take place in the capitals of the two countries.
