The archeology is not affected by the crisis, visitors will be able to find out for themselves at Bulgarian Archeology 2009 exhibition which opened yesterday and was organized by the National Institute of Archeology with the Bulgarian Academy of Science.
In 2009 archaeologists from the museum along with their colleagues from 29 museums all over Bulgaria worked on over 300 sites. The exhibition presents 46 of total 1000 museum exhibits discovered last year. And further these are just a trifle compared to the amount of material evidence for the development of civilization on Bulgarian territory unearthed in 2009. The fist signs of such development date back to the 5000 BC as seen from the completely preserved fine ceramic vessels from the settlement near today's Bourgas at the Black Sea of the Copper Age.
Everybody who is interested in the history of the Bulgarian territories could learn interesting facts from a de luxe catalogue of the exhibition containing 240 high-quality colour illustration. The exhibition at the Museum of Archeology will be open till May 1.
