Bulgarian MEP Attends Lunch in Honour of Italian President


On Thursday morning EP president Buzek and MEP Slavi Binev left Sofia. Later the two of them attended a lunch in Brussels in honour of the Italian president
 A day after the visit of the EP president Jerzy Buzek to Sofia an official lunch was given in honour of Italian president Giorgio Napolitano in the European Parliament. MEP Slavi Binev was the only Bulgarian invited to the lunch. On Thursday morning Jerzy Buzek left Sofia accompanied by Slavi Binev. The lunch in honour of the Italian president gathered the most important figures of the European Parliament. Among the guests were Gianni Pittella - EP vice president, leader of the socialist parliamentary group Martin Schulz, chair of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats Guy Verhofstadt, co-chair of the greens Rebecca Harms and president of the Confederal Group of the European United Left Lothar Bisky.
Slavi Binev had a long conversation with Rebecca Harms about "Belene" and "Kozloduy" nukes. MEP Binev greeted the Italian president Giorgio Napolitano and said he is glad to meet him in Brussels, but also hopes to meet him in Sofia soon.
Slavi Binev had talks with the Italian delegation on the possibilities, created by the Lisbon treaty for coordination of engagements regarding religion.
