Bulgaria's Prime Minister Boyko Borisov formally inaugurated the construction of Lot 4 of the strategic Trakiya Highway that will connect capital Sofia with the Black Sea. "There are 7 highway projects in Bulgaria. GERB government will build three highways by the end of our first term in 2013, and four highways in our next term," declared at the groundbreaking ceremony. In his inaugural speech the PM said he hoped that the Trakiya Highway will be completed by June 2012 ahead of the set deadline, August 2012, and the Bulgarians would travel by it to the Black Sea in the 2012 summer. The Bulgarian Road Infrastructure named "Holding Roads" as winner in the tender for Trakiya Highway construction.  Another key infrastructure project, the 19-km Lyulin highway near Sofia, is the Bulgarian highway project which is closest to completion.
