text sizeZero Inflation in July
Inflation in Bulgaria has frozen and in July it was 0%, the National Statistical Institute informed. In May inflation rate was also zero percent and in June prices went down by 0.9%. As a result since the beginning of 2011 inflation is 1.8%, while for the last year accumulated growth of prices is 4.4%. It turns out saving money is profitable. During the past 12 months interests on one year deposits in leva have kept the level of 6.4%, which is higher than the inflation rate. Rising of prices doesn’t melt down the savings and for very 100 leva deposited in a bank account the holder had won 2 leva.
The zero inflation rate marked in July is due to the reduced prices of foods, alcohol, clothing and communications.
