Wedding tourism will be a new attraction for tourists in Bulgaria’s resorts of Sandanski and Melnik. The idea to offer this new magnet for foreign guests landed on managers of the Bulgarian Hotel and Restaurant Keepers Association. During the charity ball last year they made the first presentation – a Roman wedding, which stirred a vivid interest among the guests. We will try to stage thematic weddings in Sandanski and Melnik to promote the cultural heritage of our region. The other wedding we could present is typical for the Pirin region and shows rich folklore traditions of this picturesque part of Bulgaria. One of the most famous Bulgarian folk singers Luybimka Biserova will help organize Pirin weddings,” said the Association’s Secretary Maria Taushanova.
