Bulgaria’s government has confirmed the nominations for five more ambassadors to be proposed to President Plevneliev for approval. As The Standart daily informed first yesterday, current ambassador to EU Boyko Kotsev is appointed as Bulgaria’s ambassador to Moscow. “He has worked for years in Foreign Ministry and knows well the debate between Europe and Russia,” Foreign Minister Nikolay Mladenov explained after the Council of Ministers sitting. Konstantin Kodzhabashev – now Consul General in Valencia will be Bulgaria’s ambassador to Spain. Rumen Pironchev was nominated for ambassador in Pakistan and Boryana Simeonova – director of State Protocol at the Council of Ministers was appointed for ambassador in Morocco. The last appointment for head of mission is for Syria – the current charge d’affaires Dimitar Mihaylov will be promoted as ambassador.
More diplomatic nominations will be considered at the next sitting of the cabinet. Then will become clear the names of Bulgarian ambassadors to Brazil, Mexico, Sweden and Finland.
