All violations of the traffic regulations must be recorded on camera
A fifty-lev electronic ticket will replace the paper citations currently issued to motorists in Bulgaria for a number of violations of the Road Traffic Act, such as using a mobile phone while driving, crossing against the light or irregular overtaking, provided that the offence has been recorded on camera.
The planned reforms will be introduced in a few months.
The new electronic system is meant to put an end to the long queues at the traffic police stations across the country.
At present, an electronic speed ticket is issued only to drivers detected by radar with a camera.
