Japanese Emperor Marvels at Rashidov’s Sculpture



According to a Japanese tradition Honorary Consul of Bulgaria in Japan Hisashi Nakayama and Bulgarian Ambassador Luybomir Todorov wearing white gloves cut the ribbon with golden scissors.
The Emperor of Japan owns a piece of art by incumbent Bulgarian Minister of Culture and renown sculture, Vejdi Rashidov. The sculpture called Scream by the famous author is given a special place in the collection of the Japanese monarch. The sculpture arrived in Japan years ago as Rashidov is one of the most popular foreign artists in Japan.
A couple of days ago he presented five plastics and 17 watercolours at an exhibition titled the Centaur’s Beauty  in the unique Equine Museum in Yokohama some 30 kilometres from Tokyo.
The spectacular event gathered in the prestigious Equine Museum top diplomats, politicians, art collectors, university professors and businessmen.
“Mr. Rashidov is not only Bulgaria’s Minister of Culture, he is a person of art highly reputed in Europe. His series of sculptures The “Centaur” decorate many museums across the world,” writes Japanese national daily “Yomiuri Shimbun” The exhibition of Vejdi Rashidov will be open till June 10.
