Thousands of participants in the commemoration festival The Birth of Rome were impressed with the Bulgarian participants from the town of Razgrad, northeastern Bulgaria who took part in the masquerade parade in Rome and presented one of Bulgaria’s Wonders - the ancient town of Abrittus. Wearing togas they walked along Via Veneto with a sign of the ancient Roman city of Abrittus on the ruins of which the town of Razgrad spreads today.
Obviously the decision of Razgrad’s troupe to take part in Rome’s festival stirred interest in Rome as the Vatican radio made a ten-minute cover on the Roman descendants in Bulgarian lands.
