text sizeBulgarian PM: No chance for early elections
We still have miles of highways to build, Borissov said
“First, we are going to build some highways, then invest in archeology, and then we are going to run at the parliamentary elections next year,” Boyko Borissov said commenting statements of some MPs from the opposition, who suggested there might be snap elections this autumn.
Movement’s for Rights and Freedoms leader Ahmed Dogan said he could smell early elections coming soon.
After that reelected Bulgarian Socialist Party Leader Sergey Stanishev said he had been tightening the ranks for campaigning, as the ruling party was, in his words, cornered.
“Dogan smells elections because his movements and GERB are the only two political party in Bulgaria ready for elections, while the socialists are scared,” Borissov countered.
“We have not come to power for the sake of power, but to do something for the Bulgarian people,” he went on.
