No Negotiations over US Missile Defence Shield in Bulgaria
"The USA hasn't requested from Bulgaria's government to permit the deployment of elements from the US Missile Defence Shield on Bulgarian territory. The possibility Bulgaria to join the anti-missile defence system in the future remains open", said US Deputy State Secretary for Arms Control and International Security Ellen Tauscher, quoted by Interfax and ITAR-TASS."For the moment no elements would be based in Bulgaria, no negotiations have been conducted on the issue and I think this is something that is still in the air", US ambassador to Sofia James Warlick explained yesterday.
